Ray & Tracye – Where Have You Been?

By Ray Gano

As many of you know, our site was destroyed a several weeks ago. We were hacked big time back in October and I was working with a database guy trying to bring it back, but we did not have any luck.

I then thought that I could use an old back up to at least re-install it so I could have some sort of functionality. But when I did that, the site went up in smoke.

POOF… years of work, articles ect…. all gone.

But the wonderful thing is that I discovered an old email list back up that I had when we created the raygano.com website.

This weekend I was able to install it on our new email server and I tested it out.

PRAISE THE LORD!!! It worked!

The interesting thing is that I have been getting a lot of emails from folks that I have not heard from in a very long time.

I think what happened is that when I built raygano.com some how not all the email names got put into that database.

Folks, just so you know, I am not a database guy at all. But what apparently happened is that only half of the database imported into the website.

So, after sending out this email testing the database, I started to get a number of emails like the following…

Hi Ray and Tracye,  Haven’t heard from you in AGES.  Was so surprised to receive your e-mail.  Are you still down in Panama (I think it was, maybe Costa Rica)?  So MUCH going on!  I know couple folks who came back from So. Am. after we got our wonderful new Prez.  Must always be on guard, though.  Hope to hear from you.  Blessings on your day, D & C

After getting a few of these types of emails, it dawned on me what took place and that something happened to a chunk of readers who somehow got dropped off our email list.

From their point of view, we must have dropped off the face of the earth.

We just moved to Panama when we built the new raygano.com website so the timing is about right.

So, for the 2500+ people who did not know what happened to us, I thought that I would take this time to share all that we have been doing for the Lord and continuing being a voice of truth.

Where To Start?

I guess the best place to start is when we moved to Costa Rica. To be honest, we did not know why God led us down there. It truly was Him and the doors were thrown open.

We asked God on our second recon trip to help us find a home, a car and a mail box.

In seven days, we had all three.  God delivered.

When we got back, we let friends and family know that we were moving to Costa Rica.

That in and of itself was a miracle. We had either packed or sold everything we had from living in New Braunfels for over 11 years. You accumulate a lot of stuff over that time period.

But what was amazing is that we got all this done in just 45 days and we were back on the plane headed to Costa Rica.

Again, it was one miracle after another, and we were being obedient to the Lord’s lead. We really had no idea why we were being led there, but God kept opening up doors and we trusted him and walked through them.

We landed in Costa Rica with 4 dogs and 6 suitcases. We had friends meet us and they helped us get to Atenas, the little town where we would spend 2 great years.

Tracye Gets Sick

Four days after arriving to Costa Rica, Tracye developed appendicitis and we had to get her to the hospital. I was freaking out because we had no money to really pay for an operation and we did not have health insurance for overseas yet.

But again, a friend of ours stepped up and helped us with the bill as well as some of the PZ Insiders. I honestly do not know what we would have done if it wasn’t for all the caring people standing with us in our corner.

Again, it was God.

Costa Rica Life

Tracye and I still wonder why we were guided to Costa Rica. If anything, we were there to help a number of people. We had a LOT of visitors come down and want to check out Costa Rica. It was a steady stream of folks and we truly tried to help each and every person with realistic information and not painting any rainbows and unicorn stuff to fluff things up.

We enjoyed sharing the countries beauty and helping people make a decision to either move down or stay in the states.

One of the wonderful benefits was the friendships that we made and still maintain to this day. As well as the lives we were able to tough and help grow in the Lord.

In Atenas we knew a lot of people and we were always there to help lend a hand when ever we could.

God Calls Us To Panama

We were really trying to get Costa Rican residency, but it did not pan out at all. To expensive at the time and just not feasible.

So, when a friend of ours invited us to come to Panama, we thought “lets check it out and see where the Lord leads.”

Our friends met us at the airport and drove us up to Vucan, a cute town way up in the mountains at the base of Vulcan Baru. It was beautiful and cold. We were not expecting that. In Costa Rica we lived in perpetual spring time. Wonderful 70’s & 80’s. It was the rainy season and at this altitude it got rathe chilly quickly.

We did not think of bringing any coats, so we picked up some and we were surprised at the prices. Things in Panama were at least 1/3 cheaper than that in Costa Rica.

We both liked that a lot.

Food was less expensive, in fact just about everything was 1/3 the cost.

Interestingly it wasn’t as exotic as Costa Rica was. It reminded us more of Texas Hill Country than living down in the tropics.

So Tracye and I prayed about this and went back to Costa Rica. About a month passed and we decided to do another recon trip to Panama and see what doors the Lord opened up for us.

One of the most wonderful things that happened is that we found this incredible church. We have not been in a church like this ever before. It was an eclectic mix of people from different denominations and such. Our pastor who’s name ways Buddy did a great job of bringing it all together and Tracye and I loved being part of this new Christian family.

We continued to have a lot of visitors come down and check out Panama and many loved our church as well.

A number of people who came down to visit ended up staying. Some are still living down there and are happy.

After a few months I was invited to become one of the deacons at our church. It was growing really quickly as more and more people started to move on down to Panama.

Having President Obama as president I think helped push people out.

What was wonderful is that we had a growing community of wonderful Christians and we were affecting the town that we lived in. It was great to see Christ moving in our little mountain town of Boquete.

As I have stated, again we did not know why God brought us down to Central America and anyone who would ask us that we kept telling them it was God and we were just to do and go where He led us.

And we did.

It was a wonderful year living in Boquete and God was really using us.

Then came the ranch.

The Ranch From Hell

Out of the blue I got an instant message on Facebook from a guy who had a ranch for sale.

He heard that I was helping consulting expats and help advise them in moving down to Panama.

I inquired about the ranch and what it had on it and it sounded like the prepper dream property come true.

I told Tracye about it and once again it seemed that God opened up a door, but later we found out that we were taken / scammed big time.

We also found out that the ranch seemed to be a demonic stronghold.

So many things would go wrong out of the blue. Fires, snakes, rats, diesel generator catching fire ( fyi diesel does not burn) and a number of other things.

It wasn’t minor things happening to use either. About every other day something major would break down or break period. It seemed the prior owner just jury-rigged everything just to keep things running one more day.

At first glance, the property was like a resort and there were a lot of great things on the property.

For example, we had this great pool area. Negative is that the guy built the pool using cinder block. Did I mention that earthquakes are quite common? Do you know that cinderblock and earthquakes do not do well together?

So even though we had this great pool area, we could not use it because the pool did not hold water.

The whole place was 100% solar. That sounds pretty cool right?

Folks, you do not want to go 100% solar unless you REALLY know what you are doing. It is not cut out for the weak of heart, nor electronically challenged like I am.

This thing was a pain in the rear. Top that off, Panama’s rainy season. Just in case you are wondering, when it rains, the sun is not out charging batteries. SO, we had to run the generator almost daily to charge up the batteries. That was a lot of diesel we had to purchase and if I did not make it to town, we did not have electricity.

We had 2/3 of our property burn, our solar water well break-down several times, all our ATVs die on us. Our chicken population was greatly reduced by the coyotes after the fires and then the the fer-de-lance snakes, which are super poisonous and VERY aggressive also move in.

Followed by rats. Oh my goodness, where did they all come from? One would think that rats first then snakes, but it was the other way around. They were everywhere and these are not the small rats, these were big 12” long rats, not including their tails either.

Tracye and I could not figure out why we were having such horrible luck. Then I started to do my research.

Article after article, book after book. It seemed that it kept pointing back to one primary thing. Our property was a demonic strong hold.

Now the negative is that we were not the properties’ owners yet. So, in the eyes of the enemy, we did not have domain. Since we did not and they have been there for so long, battling them was fierce and I learned a lot about spiritual warfare and really fighting the enemy on their ground.

By the end of the first year, Tracye and I had enough, and we could not sustain the fight, nor did we want to anymore.

We missed the grand kids and the rest of the family big time. It was time for us to come back to the US.

Now, here is the interesting thing. Out of all this, I gained a wealth of knowledge and hardened battle experience living on that piece of property for that year.

Out of that I wrote an incredible book on spiritual deliverance which was tested first hand with me and Tracye. What I wrote in that book was battle tested and battle proven. I also learned how to look out for future attacks.

The name of the book is “ The Demonic Wars – Winning Our Lives Back & Regaining Ground: Being Demonized – The Hard Fight & Long Term Strategic Battle Plan”

You can order it here from Amazon – https://www.amazon.com/dp/1985584913/

I recommend every Christian get a copy and work the programs, self-exams, ect that I have included in this book. We are living in the last days of the last days and all of us are being attacked at a rate that people do not understand.

Get my book and you will understand. But more than that, you will know what to do and how to plan ahead for future attacks.

Moving Back To The US

I have not shared much about this part because I felt like I was a complete failure.

We lost everything down in Panama, to the tune of about $65K.

Gone… Poof.

A lot of people think we are well off, right now no we can barely rub two pennies together.

We sold what we could and came back with 5 dogs, 6 suitcases and $5K in our pockets.

That was literally all we had to our names.

We were so glad to finally escape that hell ranch. To this day I still have a pit in my stomach when I think about it.

Another thing that happened is that we lost a lot of our readers because the internet was SO horrible out there. We were paying $100 a month for 1.5 meg.

What this meant is that I was unable to upload videos, MP3, in fact just making changes on the website took 15+ minutes per edit.

Because we were not producing content, people naturally dropped off.

So, we lost close to half or readership and support.

Coming back to the US was not an easy feat at all. But amazingly God’s hand and His Favor was with us.

We lived at our son’s house for about 45 days and we used that time to find a home. Another great thing is that because I am a veteran, I was able to get a veteran’s loan and have no $$ down. This was a huge blessing and we were able to get into a nice home that just kind of fell into our laps.

I am not going to kid you, it has been a struggle and we are still struggling, and for those who have been with us on this journey, they have seen all the ups and downs we have had to face.

The good thing is that I have been able to get my demon book out there. I was invited to be part of Hear The Watchmen conference in Dallas, which was a great honor. I was also guest on Skywatch TV and a number of other television shows including The Jim Bakker Show a few times.

What Are We Doing Now?

God has blessed Tracye and I with a wealth of knowledge and personal experience. We have learned to live by the seat of our pants and with great resiliency. You can not knock us down and if you do, we have learned to get right back up and keep fighting.

Like always, Tracye and I have asked God what He wants us to do.

The funny thing is that He came back with this “Teach The People.”

Tracye and I love imparting knowledge. We have been places, seen things, experienced things that many people have not experienced.

We call ourselves “serial entrepreneurs” because we can not help starting up businesses. We have been working in the ministry and living day by day on faith that God will provide since 2005.

There is so much that we want to share and teach that we don’t know where to even begin.

So what we have been doing is going live on Facebook, twice a week.

Tuesdays @ 10AM CST  & Thursdays @ 5 PM CST.

What we have been doing is taking email questions and answering them live. Funny thing is that our videos are actually doing pretty good.

Our latest video that we did – “The Five Things You Need To Do Before The 2020 Elections” already have over 1,900 views and it keeps growing. Same with our other “Teaching” videos.

“My people perish for the lack of knowledge” So both Tracye and I feel and believe that this is what God wants us to do. “Teach The People.”

So, this is what we are now doing. Teaching the people skills that we have obtained going through all the fires that we have gone through and survived.

Like it or not, we think strange days are coming and I think it would be very prudent to know how to navigate all the obstacles that we are able to navigate and avoid.

So that is what we feel led to do teach upon a number of topics from…

  • Survival & Preparedness
  • Bible Prophecy & World Events
  • Living a self-sustaining life
  • Learning to have a home-based business that pays
  • Ketogenic Diet (both Tracye & I are certified coaches)

If you have any questions, please send me an email at ray@raygano.net

I will look it over and we will add it to the list of questions we want to answer.

In the meantime, please consider standing in the gap with us.

We finally have a proper email server and we are now sending out to everyone on our list, not just some, but all.

This is exciting because there are wonderful people we have not heard from in years and I think this is the reason why.

We now have a new website that we are getting up and running… https://raygano.net

And we have created our PZ File Area for our PZ Insiders.

WHICH by the way, I am adding a number of EMP files to the PZ Files Area.

Ray’s Intel Network

I am slowly amassing people who have their ears to the ground and are in specialties areas or experience. One such person, let’s call her “M” has a some good inside information and she has shared with me some great info on EMP. She was privileged to attend a county sponsored closed to the public event and EMP was one of the main topics.

She passed some great intel off to me in pdfs and such and I will be posting some of these to our PZ Files Area. If you are not a PZ Insider, sorry you don’t have access to this information.

Tracye and I are streamlining what we are doing and going to really focus on “Teaching The People” the needed information that is critical to learn.

Expect more informative emails. Make sure you add my email address to your address book and mark me friendly or how ever you mark non-spam email.

We have just under 2 years to do what we need to do.

No matter what, the socialist Marxist democrats are going to pull every dirty trick they are able to pull. They have shown that they are more than willing to lie, cheat, steal and kill to get what they want.

So, we need to be ready for what is possibly going to come down the pipe.

If Trump wins, which I hope he does, then things are going to get 100 times crazier.

If Dems steal the election, then I strongly believe we will see some form of civil war.

Not matter what, those who have the knowledge and know how will pass through the storm.

That is what Tracye and I feel our mission is… “Teach The People” – For my people perish for the lack of knowledge.

Again, contact me with questions ray@raygano.net

How To Have a Productive Mindset

By Ray Gano

Everybody knows we live in an age of distraction, just look at how many people are glued to their phones, on Facebook or some other social media.

We have so many different things trying to get our attention that it’s hard to focus on any one thing, let alone make progress on the multitude of tasks we have on our plates.

As you know recently, we were hacked…twice and our site was totally destroyed with 10 years of great content. Poof… gone.

A few weeks ago I wrote about being resilient, getting back up and pushing forward. If you did not get a chance to read that article, it was born out of the shenanigans that took place that weekend. That was when we lost everything and now we are literarily starting over from scratch.

Starting over means putting your nose to the grindstone, hunkering down and making things happen.

A lot of productivity gurus tell you that you need to cut out the distractions.

So, if email or social media are distracting you, simply get away from them or use a program to block them for the amount of time you need to complete a task.

Works in theory, but not in reality.

Here is what I have personally found. Being distraction-free doesn’t equal productivity. I’m a writer, and as a writer, I’m always working on creating content and along the way connect with potential readers as well as ya’ll who currently read my work.

There is an old saying, all work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy.

Since 2005 I have learned how to have a productive mindset. NOW, I have to admit that there are times where I just let things coast, and that is not good. We need to remember who it is we serve and serve Him to the most and best of our ability.

So just because you get away from the distractions doesn’t mean you’ll be productive with the time you have.

I am a great example as a writer, it’s easy to justify doing anything other than writing as research or creative thinking.

Yeah, scrolling through Facebook for hours. Now, I have over 4500 friends on Facebook, so I could say I am “working” but what I am really doing is wasting time and not being productive.

It is really easy to fool ourselves. We start to think that if we’re doing something, then we’re being productive. But you can work really hard at the wrong things thinking that you’re moving forward when you’re really just spinning your wheels.

This has happened to me a few times.

The key to productivity is adopting a productive mindset and learning how to focus your creative energy on the things that matter.

What I try to do is hard focus on one thing and work as much as I can for 45 min. I then take a break, scroll around on Facebook or do something distracting.

I then hit it hard again and then take a break. I have found my productivity really boost.

So how do you create a productive mindset?

  1. Know Your Why

To get and keep your nose to the grindstone, you have to know your why. There’s a why behind everything that we do, but it’s not always a conscious why.

We eat breakfast..why? Because we’re hungry, but we don’t really spend a lot of time thinking about the purpose behind our desire to eat breakfast.

Having a productive mindset starts with identifying why you do the things you do.

Why are you writing that blog post?

Why are you contacting that client?

Why are you creating that product?

Questions like these force you to do some serious evaluation of your priorities because you’ll discover that the reason why you do some things isn’t a good enough reason to continue doing those things.

Other good whys, taking that vacation you have always wanted to go on. Getting that cool new guy / gal toy or maybe working on improving yourself and your life.

Knowing your why involves looking at your goals (why) your production and then identifying exactly what you hope to accomplish with all that you do and what motivates you to do it.

  1. Identify the Tasks that Make You the Most Productive

To find out what you are doing, you need to track it. I use an app called Toggle Desktop. I used this to track of few days of what I was doing. No matter what I did, I tracked it and timed it. After a few days I was able to drop the data into Excel and create a chart so I can visually see how much time I was being productive as well as wasting.

By doing this you can see where you are truly productive. You can then go and ask yourself “what are the tasks that make you the most and least productive?”

Working hard isn’t enough to be successful at doing what you love because you can work hard at things that are only drying up your creative energy instead of creating results.

You have to identify the things that are most worth your time because they’re the most rewarding in terms of productivity, and this is where Toggle Desktop helped me.

Whatever it is you do for a living, identify the tasks that will make you the most productive in your professional arena.

  1. Focus Your Creative Energy by Challenging Yourself

Once you have a list of the tasks that will make you the most productive, you need a strategy for actually completing those tasks. This is where going above and beyond the simple elimination of distractions is vital.

If you really want to get tasks completed, you have to challenge yourself. Tap into your naturally competitive nature and use it to your advantage.

Set a timer for a specific amount of time and challenge yourself to complete as much of a task as you can within that time frame. As I mentioned above I try to work really focused on short spans of time.

I have been experimenting with 5 min focus – 1 min break. I forget where I read about this, but I am finding that it is working. In fact, that is how I am writing this article that needs to get done.

By doing a super focused 5 min – you will get a lot done. At least I do and I am amazed at how much I can get done.

  1. Be Passionate About Results

A productive mindset requires a high degree of commitment to getting the job done. When the process makes you weary, it’s the results and your why that will drive you to keep going.

This is what keeps me going every day. I have to admit that there are times I do not feel like writing an article. But I know that I would be letting all of you down and I can’t do it.

As a writer, it can be really easy to give up in the middle of an article or better yet a book because the process is starting to feel slow and unrewarding. There are also times that I wonder if anyone is really listening or not. But the article / book isn’t finished, and the only way I can see the result of a finished article / book is to keep going.

If you’re lucky like me, you’ll love what you do, but don’t focus too much on loving what you do because on some days, you won’t. Like after the hackers kill your site and you see everything go up in a poof of smoke.

On those days you really leverage your why. You still need to be productive, so when you’re not passionate about the process, at least be passionate about the why so that you’ll keep going to see the results in the end.

Conclusion

If you want to be more productive, you have to start with adopting a productive mindset.

You need to have a strong why and with that your persistence grows. This is something that you will learn and continue to learn, being productive.

If you can learn this, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.

I hope that this article has been helpful. Not really your typical Ray Gano article, but I am using the lemons of us having to rebuild anew and turn it into lemon-aide.

With all the negative that is going on in the world, I am really feeling like focusing on positive and learning positive things that can help you and me grow. Tracye and I have been doing this since 2005 and we have been to hell and back several times. So we have a lot of knowledge to impart.

Some of that knowledge is what is in this article and I hope that someone out there needed to hear this because this is what the Lord directed me to write.

If there is anything that you would like for me to write about, contact me and let me know.

ALSO… Tracye and I are doing Facebook Live on Tues @ 10AM and Thurs @5PM. Tune in to my Facebook wall and jump in and say HI.

If there are any topics that you want to see us talk about, again contact me and tell me what you would like for us to answer / talk about.

How To Become a Master of Perseverance

By Ray Gano

I have to be honest, I am really tired of all the bad news that is being fed the American public.  It really takes the wind out of one’s sails.

But Tracye and I keep getting up every morning and doing the work we need to do.

We have become really good at the perseverance game.

How we have done that is by living Proverbs 3:5-6…

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

So if you are trying to get out of debt, get a college degree, build a home based business, or stick to a healthier diet, many of life’s most meaningful goals require a great deal of perseverance.

Have you ever tried to tackle a difficult long-term goal and failed? If so, you might think that only certain people have what it takes to successfully achieve their dreams.

You’d be wrong.

Accomplishing what you want usually comes down to one thing… perseverance.

As you may or may not know, it’s not an inherent character trait, it is something that you learn…over a long time.  It is getting up and doing the work every day and not quitting.

Perseverance can be learned.

In fact, you’re going to start learning it right now.

What you need to ask yourself is “ I would like _________________________.”

What is it that you want to do? Do you want to learn a second language? Running a Spartan Race? Maybe writing a book? Or paying off all your credit cards?

Whatever it is, think about it and then fill in that blank.

Tracye and I have been talking a lot about this topic and how we have persevered in so many things in our life.

We have had a lot happen to us that I would say is not the norm. We have also lived in a lot of interesting places and done a lot of interesting things.

The one thing that has helped us preserver is “Baby Steps.”

Do you know that you can accomplish just about anything taking small baby steps and never giving up?

Here are few steps that can help you gain and grow perseverance.

Learn From Famous Failures

Babe Ruth

In 1923, Babe Ruth set the record for the most home runs in a season… while also striking out more than any other player in Major League Baseball. Over his career, he struck out 1,330 times, according to the Seattle Times, but rose above his failures to hit 714 home runs.

Thomas Edison

As a young boy, Thomas Edison’s teachers told him he was “too stupid to learn anything.” He did not have much more success in the workplace, as he was fired from his first two jobs for not being productive. Even as an inventor, reports claim that Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. Happily for night owls across the globe, attempt 1,001 worked out differently.

So what’s the lesson here? Draw strength from other people’s triumphs over failure, even if you don’t know them and will never meet them.

Failure is not a bad word; quitting is the enemy.

I enjoy studying history and look at the successful people. They were / are a success because they embraced failure and did not quit.

Who knows, someday a person you’ve never even met could be getting inspiration from your perseverance in the face of failure. This has happened to both Tracye and I a number of times. It can happen to you too.

Write Down Your Goals & Create a Map To Those Goals

Sometimes we forget how powerful the human mind is. Believe it or not, you can increase the likelihood that you will do something simply writing it down and forming a plan in your mind.  If you can imagine it happening, your mind will find a way make it happen.

Michael Jordan, probably the greatest basketball player ever would preview the game in his mind and see himself doing all the things that he wanted to accomplish during the game. By the time the game actually started, he would be able to act out the “map” he had created in his own mind.

He wasn’t surprised when he blocked an opponent’s shot or slam dunked that ball. He saw it already and mapped it out in his mind ahead of time. So when he had the ball, his mind created the outcome and that is how he became one of the greatest players ever.

You can use this same technique to help you accomplish your goals.

See, a goal if not written down is just a hope and a dream. When you write it down and then put a date beside it, you will be amazed when you achieve it.

TIP – Use dry erase markers and write your goals on your bathroom mirror as well as your car window. This way your brain will see these and chart a course for you to succeed.

Focus on Short-Term Victories With Baby Steps

One of the things that can paralyze you and impede your progress toward achieving your goal is to focus only on the big picture. This is what I meant by saying to take baby steps. If  all you do is focus on the big picture you will become naturally overwhelmed and it will seem like you’re not getting anywhere.

Create a bunch of baby step goals that will get you to the big goal. Remember, perseverance is learned over the long term.

By achieving all the short-term goals, it will help you stay focused and remain successful with each and every baby step.

Your enthusiasm will keep you moving forward, and focusing on your successful completion of each baby step will eventually carry you to your goal.

Get Rid of The Negative Thoughts

This is a pretty simple point, but it’s one that will make all the difference. Your odds of achieving your goal, no matter how difficult, are always between 0 and 100 percent. If you succumb to negative thoughts such as, “I can’t do this,” “I’m not good at this,” or “I’ll never be as good as that person,” you will sabotage your own efforts and eventually give up. Which means you’ll have a 0 percent chance of achieving your goal.

Make a promise to yourself, from this moment forward, no negative thoughts from your mind.

Here is a great tool you can use to help you do that. Imagine your negative thoughts as little flies or mosquitoes that have come to distract you. Good, now imagine you have a flyswatter in your mind that will swat and flick them away from your mind.

You’ll be surprised at how easy it can be, once you get in the habit of identifying and swatting away those negative thoughts.

Stay focused on the positive and keep swatting those negatives away.

Your Mistakes Will Make You Smarter

NEWS FLASH… there will be times when you’ll make mistakes and fall to the ground. The key is to persevere and get back up again.

How you do this is having the mindset that you know you will fail and make a mistake, but you will not allow yourself to stay down and quit. By having a plan in your mind already that you will get back up again when that mistake or failure takes place.

What I do to help me is learn from my mistake or failure. I do an “autopsy” on the situation and look at where I messed up. At times I will talk to Tracye about it, especially if I can not put a finger on the issue. By doing these autopsies, I learn what not to do if faced with that situation again.

Failures are the greatest teachers for success.

This way, you won’t be too hard on yourself when you make mistakes and get down on yourself to the point that you lose your motivation to keep striving.

Having a constructive and forgiving attitude toward mistakes will help you heal faster and will allow you to use the experience to re-focus and refine your approach.

Let the Haters/Bozos Fuel Your Desire

As you work toward your goal, you will run into people who do not want to see you succeed. I call these people “haters” and “Bozos.”

Here is phrase I want you to learn… “Don’t let the Bozos grind you down.”

I have no idea why these sort of people come out of the woodwork, but they do. Maybe they’re jealous, maybe they’re mean-spirited, or maybe they don’t have anything better to do. Whatever it is, it doesn’t matter… Don’t Let The Bozos Grind You Down.

I apply this rule big time when it comes to social media, heaven knows how many people just want to hate on you because of what you do or say.

If someone comes along and they are one of these drama queen bozos, then what I do is instantly block that person. I don’t think twice and debate myself. I instantly block.

If a person is being negative, like the negative thoughts, I swat them with that block button and POOF… they are out of my life.

NOW, when people tell you that you can’t do something, I know at times it can help  strengthens my resolve to go out and do it.

“You said what? Oh no you didn’t” and you go after it like the Energizer Bunny.

Turn Up The Radio

Music has amazing power to shape our emotions and therefore our actions. If you discount its impact, you will miss out on a tool that has helped generations of people overcome the toughest of challenges and persevere in spite of real danger.

One of the ways that I do that is by listening to KSBJ over the internet. It is our local Christian contemporary radio station.

LISTEN HERE >>> http://www.ksbj.com

Music is a great motivator. Music can unite people and help them believe in something even when all hope seems lost.

Use that power to help you on your own journey. Remember that the tone, tempo, and lyrics of whatever song you’re listening to will influence your mood, so pick one that embodies the emotion you want to have.

There’s no shortage of inspiring music — find your favorite songs that make you feel upbeat and confident, and listen to them when the wind is not so much in your sails or when you’re in need of an emotional or spiritual pick-me-up.

Conclusion

Tracye and I want to help more people. We have so much knowledge, information and experience and we want to make a difference in people’s life.

It is funny how much worthless information is in my head.

IN FACT…

My hat is old
My teeth are gold
I have a bird I like to hold
My shoe is off
My foot is cold
My shoe is off
I have a bird I like to hold
My teeth are gold
My hat is old
And now my story is all told.

Yeah, my first ever poem I learned in first grade and I still remember it to this day.

NOW, if you can tell me who authored that poem and an extra bonus point to you if you can name the book.

And here is some insight, you just smiled because you know the author and the book and I helped bring a little joy to you in your life right now.

That is what Tracye and I want to do, help bring joy in people’s lives with all the information and knowledge that we have.

So, how can we share our experiences with you and help better your life?

Think about it and get back with me.

The Pitfalls of Compartmentalizing

By Ray Gano

As many of you know, I come from a security / investigative background. When I research, I conduct it like one would conduct an investigation.

I am one who constantly digs for the truth.

Recently in my investigations of doctrinal ideas, the Christian walk, etc, I have discovered that somewhere along the line we stopped looking at things as a whole and started to compartmentalize.

Some of you may be asking, what is so wrong with this?

In today’s hectic fast paced world, compartmentalizing one’s life helps one deal with so much that is thrown at them. Many of us have learned to live this way for the sake of self-preservation in this crazy world.

The problem is that living a compartmental life is a pitfall.

What is Compartmentalization?

We all know what a compartment is.

It is commonly defined as a space in which that space is then subdivided.

Looking at it another way is to think of your home as a floor plan.

Look at your bedroom. It is a compartment, where you sleep, the kitchen, another compartment, is where you cook and eat, the bathroom is another compartment where you bath and go to the bathroom.

Due to our fast-paced world, we humans have a tendency to compartmentalize things in our life so that we can control them better, deal with the stress and other issues that come with what the world doles out.

In doing this we provide a way that seems “reasonable” to us so that we can then interact with the world.

When we are at our job, we act one way. When we are with friends, we act another way. With family we act another way, etc, etc.

In many cases we have learned to adapt to our environment and then assert certain values, attitudes, beliefs, and language depending upon which compartment we may be in at that time.

And that is the pitfall.

Be Ye Holy

Scripture says…

1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

See maintaining one compartment of our life as “holy” does not render our whole life as holy.
If one compartment of our life is “unholy” then the whole of our life is unholy before God.

Wow Ray, that is hard.

Yes it is. It is something that I believe that all of us deal with, myself included.

The more we compartmentalize the more we lie to ourselves thinking we are doing a great job.

That is the pitfall of compartmentalizing one’s life.

Compartmentalizing creates hypocrisy because in one compartment we live a holy life, yet in another compartment we may live like hell.

When we compartmentalize, we are able to rationalize and justify our actions. That is because we are not living at that moment in the “holy” compartment.

Instead we are living in the “who cares, live like hell” compartment.

Here is a great example of a compartmental life that I think you can relate with.

It is Sunday morning before church. If you have kids, you know exactly where I am going. The morning is hectic, the kids are raising cain, you can’t find your tie, your wife is trying to get dressed, made up, hair done. Kids are fighting over the prize in the cereal box and all this time you need to head out the door.

You get out the door and kids are fighting in the car. You scream at them to shut up, daughter starts crying because you yelled. Wife yells at you because you lost it and by this time you are approaching the church parking lot.

As soon as you pull in, you shift into your “going to church” compartment. You calm down, life is good, push back the frustration, etc etc.

If does not matter that WWIII was taking place in your home 30 minutes earlier. You are now in another compartment and life is good.

This is just an example of the hypocrisy of trying to live a compartmentalized life. One moment you are a complete jerk, another you are that “man of God” that everyone loves.

Add to this the “get drunk on Friday night” compartment, “join the guys from work and go to Hooters” compartment, “swearing like a sailor” compartment, and the list goes on.

Do you see how easy it is to fall into hypocrisy?

Here is the kicker.

I think it is safe to say that when we are completely honest with ourselves, all of us can admit that we live a compartmentalized life in one form or another.

NOW…. If we are living like this, compartmentalizing sin and our Christian walk, what does it make us?

Hypocrites.

But that is not all and this is why compartmentalizing our lives is a pitfall.

Because we have compartmentalized so much, we have made God’s compartment smaller and smaller.

In fact, we get His compartment so small that after a while we start asking God “why He isn’t in our lives anymore?”

We start questioning Him, and doubting him, etc.

What we forget is that God never left us. We have made His compartment so small that we no longer have any fellowship with Him.

Out of this lack of fellowship with God rises no longer needing God in our lives. We start standing on our own, and “doing it my way.”

Pride moves in, the heart become more and more hardened and we continue to compartmentalize God right out of the picture.

By this time, we get to this point we are fully backslidden and wallowing in the muck and mire of the world.

Getting Back to God

You have been living a compartmental life now for a while. Life is not good. There is that special place in your heart that has a void.

Then it happens.

It is about 3:00 AM in the morning when the world is quiet, and we wake to a still small voice.

It is the Holy Spirit talking to us.

We can do one of two things. Ignore it, which is another form of compartmentalizing.

Or we can pay attention to His still, small, convicting voice and start digging through all those compartments trying to come into fellowship with Him once again.

You are wide awake, and it becomes a moment in your life where you start asking yourself…

“Why did you do this, why did you leave God?”

You then talk to God…

“God, why did I compartmentalize you out of my life? Please forgive me and please let’s have fellowship once again.”

If We Confess Our Sins

It is at that moment that we realize that we have compartmentalized Him out of our lives. It is also at that time when we realize that we need to confess our sins to Him and re-establish that fellowship.

I love 1 John 1, in verses 6- 9 it deals with the pitfalls of compartmentalizing as well as gives us the solution.

Please note my comments in the brackets.

1John 1:6-9 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: — (This is us compartmentalizing, justifying, rationalizing, etc)

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. — (This is how we are to live)

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. — (This is the result of us compartmentalizing, justifying, rationalizing, etc)

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. — (This is the solution to compartmentalizing)

Once we have been forgiven of our sin and cleansed from all unrighteousness, the compartmentalization that we have been putting ourselves through seem to disappear.

That is till we start compartmentalizing again.

How To Not Go Down The Compartmentalizing Path

1 John 1:6-9 gives us a good idea, but there is more that we need to do. Otherwise what happens is that we start living a roller coaster life of sinning like hell, then repenting, then sinning, and then repenting.

Living a miserable life like that is not what the Lord had in store for us.

To stop living this sort of depressing un-victorious life we need to do one thing.

That is to fully submit to God.

We need to submit to Him, His ways and His Word. But we do not like this, we like to rebel.

When we compartmentalize, we start thinking on our own, start standing on our own, start doing things on our own. There is no submission.
We compartmentalize so that we can deal with sin that we want to live in, and the guilt and stress of living in it.

Yes, there are things that we do not want to do. We do things like yelling at the spouse and kids, looking at things you should not be looking at, doing things you should not be doing is all the outcome of compartmentalizing.

The answer is to fully submit to Him and live our lives like an open book before Him and others. It is God, not us, that starts to guide us and direct us. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

What is wonderful is that He takes care of those things that we had to compartmentalize.
Just so you know, we compartmentalized so that we are able to deal with the world as well as the stress and guilt that comes along with that.

Now I am not talking about living a life where you are tempting God. For example not showing up to work and thinking God will magically have all the bills paid and food on the table. We need to live in accordance to His Word.

Depending on Him fully is not living a life looking through rose colored glasses or having your head in the sand.

When we submit to Him fully, we open those doors of fellowship and we come just as we are. The stress and guilt are gone.

How Do We Fellowship?

We need to spend time talking to God. I know that during my day I talk to God often. It is kind of like when I am talking to Tracye. I just talk to Him and let Him know what is going on or I ask for His favor.

For example these past few weeks have been time consuming and I have not been able to write an article. This morning I asked God to help with this and give me an article that would help people. You are reading that answer to prayer right now.

Prayer works.

We need more time in His Word. If you really want to hear the voice of God, read His Word.

When you read the bible, you are literally letting the voice of God into your mind.

I am reminded of Romans 21:2

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
How we are transformed into a person who submits to Him is by the renewing of our mind. We do that by reading His Word so that His Word is in our mind.

The Holy Spirit authored the Scriptures to be read and understood. He delights in making himself known to us through his Word.

Scripture says…

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Right there is a great promise. That the Holy Spirit will teach us but more than that, He will help us to remember those things that we have read in His Word when the time comes where it is needed.

Have you ever been talking to someone about the Lord and you are able to quote a verse out of the blue and not know where it came from?

That is because at some point you read that in His Word and it became a part of you. The Holy Spirit brought it back to you at that time and place.

Now, if you have not been reading much of your bible, you don’t have much to lean on for the Holy Spirit to help you remember.

This is why reading your bible is vitally important.

We need more time with other bible believing Christians.

Scripture says…

Hebrews 10:25a Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…

We need fellowship with others because if we do not have this, we stagnate. Like a pond that is sitting with no fresh water coming in, it will soon stagnate and become poisonous.

Our Christian walk will do the same if we do not fellowship with others. When we stagnate, we compartmentalize. Then we start that process of justifying, rationalizing, etc etc all over again and God is compartmentalized right out of our lives again.

We need to stop compartmentalizing things in our lives. We need to learn to submit to Him fully. He has our best interest in mind.

We see what happens when we take control, we fail miserably.

Compartmentalizing is a pitfall that sometimes take a long time to come back from.

Submit to Him today and discover His still small voice again.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
